Week 4 "COME NEAR"

James chapter 4 opens with a question: "What causes fights and quarrels among you?"

You'd expect the answer to be "because we're sinful." It isn't.

"You do not have because you do not ask God."

Not because you've gone too far. Because you never asked.

From there the chapter turns sharp — and then, right at its sharpest, it breaks open with mercy: but he gives us more grace. More. Not less as you get worse.
